Portraits and people are the driving force behind my work as an artist. I paint because I am fascinated by the individuality of every face and by the stories revealed through expression, character and experience.
I am especially drawn to the ordinary people around me—the familiar faces that shape our communities, often without recognition. Through portraiture, I aim to celebrate their presence, capture something honest about who they are and show that every person is worthy of being seen.
My style is expressionistic, instinctive and immediate. I work quickly and intuitively, rarely changing what I have placed on the canvas. This allows each portrait to retain its energy, imperfections and sense of spontaneity. I see being untrained as an advantage: I am not restricted by formal rules or traditional methods, so I can respond freely to the person in front of me. The process can be chaotic much like the way my mind works but that chaos is an essential part of the painting, creating work that feels direct, alive and unmistakably my own.
Commissions
I accept commissions for unique, hand-painted portraits that capture more than a likeness—they aim to convey the personality, energy and character of the individual.
Working quickly and intuitively in my distinctive expressionistic style, I create each painting as an original response to the person. The result is a deeply personal, one-of-a-kind artwork, whether it is a portrait of yourself, someone important to you or a meaningful gift for a special occasion.
